- Offering general legal advice and counseling to officers, directors and staff
- Obtaining and maintaining federal and state tax exemptions
- Conducting antitrust and general legal audits
- Attending and making presentations at meetings for new Board members in the areas of fiduciary obligations, antitrust & general corporate law
- Acquiring U.S. postal permits to mail at nonprofit standard mail rates
- Counseling on unrelated business income matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating all types of contracts, releases and leases; Abundant experience in the handling of convention center and hotel contracts
- Lobbying extensively to include monitoring of Congressional legislation and analysis of regulatory developments on various topics
- Facilitating compliance with election laws; including completion of required FEC & state registrations and reporting
- Assisting in the development of standards and certification programs
- Providing nationwide or state-by-state charitable solicitation registrations; Monitoring compliance & registration renewal as needed
- Counseling on employment law issues; Drafting of employee handbooks & human resources policies
- Litigation in state and federal courts and before IRS, FEC and other regulatory agencies
