The government relations attorney with work with Congress to ensure representation for our nonprofit client’s platform– which includes 501 (c)(3), (c)(4), and (c)(6) organizations. Write position statements on legislative and regulatory issues. Coordinate and arrange meetings on Capitol Hill. Provide clients with timely information on legislative activities affecting their industry. Respond to client inquiries regarding government actions and propose solutions
The firm values a willingness to work hard in a team-oriented setting, but with independence and “ownership” of projects. We expect significant client contact and business travel will be required in the future. A hybrid work schedule may be possible after an initial probationary period.
Qualified candidates will be motivated self-starters with strong academic credentials; effective communication and strong writing skills (contracts, correspondence, memos, etc.); a commitment to excellence; a desire to develop relationships with new and existing clients; the ability ultimately to manage transactions independently; experience with legal research; and a strong interest in personal professional development. Candidates must have the ability to learn and master new specialties, particularly in the area of nonprofit law.
