Paralegal (Public Law & Policy)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a full-time Paralegal who will support our public law and policy practice as well as provide general support to our attorneys, who serve mostly nonprofit clients.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Under attorney supervision, provide direct client support regarding political law compliance matters. Including assistance with forming political committees and filing FEC reports and reports with state campaign finance officials.
  • Prepare and file lobbying registration and disclosure reports at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Assist with document review, drafting legal documents, contracts, filing correspondence, and proofreading large documents

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A paralegal certificate or 3+ years of relevant experience is required
  • 3+ years of government or political law practice is ideal.

Skills required include:

  • An understanding of multiple political law areas, including, but not limited to, campaign finance, lobbying, federal and state ethics rules.
  • Self-motivated professional adept at balancing complex workloads and meeting critical deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as demonstrated client service skills.
